Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help families and children function more effectively by connecting them with resources and providing support
  • Help navigate systems, including filling out application forms, attending appointments, and transportation.
  • Assess family needs, develop intervention plans
  • Advocate for families while ensuring the safety and well-being of children
  • Work to improve social functioning and refer to other social services.
  • Teach informal parenting classes to families who are attending our summer camp.
  • Provide on-going case management and support to families. Including following up with any referrals made.
  • Connect families to appropriate community support and resources.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support (CIS) in critical situations and monitor client status.
  • Collaborate with partners to ensure there isn’t a duplication of services.
  • Engages with families through empathetic, supportive, open-minded and non-judgemental communication and support.
  • Effectively asses family needs and road blocks and co-developing solutions with families.
  • Balancing effective and outcomes-orientated solutions in a dynamic fast-paced environment where teamwork and collaboration define the way we operate.
  • Adapt to ever-changing client and organizational needs.
    All other duties as directed by the Project Director.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work
  • Demonstrated commitment to and lived experience of principles of anti-racism, equity and inclusion.
  • Problem Solving
  • Able to make independent decisions.
  • Collaboration and teamwork
  • Proficiency in other languages in addition to English is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to create and maintain rapport with families, express and transmit information with consistency and clarity, using active listening techniques
  • Strong knowledge of social services sector, health, government and community services.

Working Conditions:

  • There are 2 work locations: Windsor West and Forest Glade. Direct contact with children at the Summer Camp may expose you to frequent illnesses or various living conditions that may be found in low-income housing complex.

Locations:
Growing Gardeners: Various elementary schools in Windsor. 
Summer Camp: West Windsor and Forest Glade.

Main Purpose of the Job:
The Facilitator supports Ready Set Go’s mission by planning and delivering high‑quality, emergent learning experiences for children. This includes leading both the Growing Gardeners program and the Summer School Readiness program. The Facilitator helps children build confidence, strengthen social–emotional skills, enhance early learning, and prepare for school through exploration, hands‑on activities, and supportive relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Planning & Delivery
Growing Gardeners

  • Assists with the 4–5 week Growing Gardeners program for area elementary schools. 
  • Teaches and supports the “3 Principles” of the Growing Gardeners program.
  • Prepares and transports Growing Gardener materials and program boxes to each school.

Summer Camp

  • Plans, prepares, and implements summer school‑readiness programming (8‑week program). 
  • Purchases and prepares nutritious snacks for program sessions. 
  • Plans and prepares activities such as storytelling, music, dramatic play, gross/fine motor activities, and small/large group learning. 
  • Engages children in meaningful exploration and play to build literacy, communication, and social‑emotional skills. 
  • Supports smooth transitions and daily routines to reduce separation anxiety and strengthen healthy attachments. 

Child, Family & Community Engagement

  • Supports and connects with teachers, parents, caregivers, and families attending programs. 
  • Assists children in forming trusting relationships with facilitators.
  • Builds children’s confidence through positive interactions and play‑based learning. 

Program Support & Operational Responsibilities

  • Ensures a safe, clean, and hazard‑free program environment and completes cleanup after each session. 
  • Supports Drop‑In program staff as needed, including outreach, engaging with families, and creative programming. 
  • Attends meetings and training sessions as required. 
  • Maintains strict confidentiality for all staff, clients, students, and volunteers. 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the Project Director or Program Developer. 

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children and families. 
    •Knowledge of program planning and implementation (asset). 
    •Access to personal transportation (asset). 

Working Conditions:

  • Work takes place in elementary schools, community agencies, and Ready Set Go program sites throughout Windsor. 
  • Direct contact with children may include exposure to illnesses and diverse living conditions in low‑income communities. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent bending, lifting, kneeling, standing, and squatting while working with children. 
  • Ability to make quick decisions, problem‑solve, supervise students, and complete reading/writing tasks during program delivery.See

Main Purpose of the Job:

The camp counsellor will prepare children for learning and success in kindergarten through the world of play and exploration. Working closely with the children, families, staff and volunteers to the support the goals and objectives of Ready Set Go as outlined in the mission statement below.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans, prepares and implements a an 8-week school readiness program.  Plans and prepares activites, snacks, gross/fine motor activites and small/large group activities.

  • Assists in strengthening a healthy parent/child attachment and reduce separation anxiety.

  • Engage children in meaningful exploration and play.

  • Build self confidence and communication skills.

  • Assist children in connecting and forming trusting relationships with facilitators.

  • Teach and assist children through transitions and daily routines.

  • Help to enhance literacy skills through story telling, music, and dramatic play.

  • Assist Drop-In staff in all areas including outreach programs, daily nutrition break, support and engage with children and families, prepare and implement creative activities for children and moms, vegetable giveaway, daily cleaning of centre.

  • All other duties as directed by the Projector & Program Developer.
